AGI completed a Phase I and Phase II ESA on the city shops property for the City of Tillamook. The city was planning to sell the land, which is located adjacent to a wetland, to the Tillamook County General Hospital for use as a parking lot and helipad.
AGI identified soil and groundwater contamination related to several former underground storage tanks and from uncontrolled dumping on the property in the 1920's and 1930's. AGI oversaw and directed the removal of contaminated soil from the property and completed a risk-based assessment of the remaining contamination associated with the UST and the dumpsite.
The City of Tillamook received financial assistance from the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund through Business Oregon for the removal of contaminated soil and additional environmental assessment work. The site received a No Further Action letter from the Oregon DEQ LUST program in May 2012.
